School of Veterinary Medicine takes part in EAEVE General Assembly in Barcelona

Prof Zoe Polizopoulou, Dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine, recently participated in a panel discussion alongside fellow Deans of veterinary schools during the 2026 General Assembly of the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE), hosted by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona on 28–29 May 2026.

Held annually, the Assembly brings together hundreds of delegates representing veterinary schools, professional organisations, and accreditation bodies from across Europe and beyond. It serves as a key forum for exchanging ideas, sharing best practice, and strengthening collaboration between veterinary institutions.

Participants discussed key developments in veterinary education, quality assurance, accreditation standards, and the emerging challenges facing the veterinary profession.

Dr Daphne Mavrides, Head of the Department of Veterinary Medicine, also attended this year’s Assembly, which provided valuable opportunities to showcase the School’s activities, strengthen international partnerships, and learn from the experiences and best practices of well-established veterinary institutions.

As the School prepares for its forthcoming EAEVE accreditation visit, the faculty’s participation in the Assembly offered timely insights into accreditation processes, quality assurance procedures, and practical strategies for meeting EAEVE standards.
