Recent MD graduate presents research at IPCRG Conference

Dr Khalid Ali Mohammed Al Kamzari, a recent MD graduate, attended the International Primary Care Respiratory Group (IPCRG) World Conference held in Tunis from 11 to 14 June 2026.

During the conference, he had the opportunity to present a study protocol he supported, titled ‘Real world patterns of inhaled medication, adherence and patient knowledge in Asthma and COPD management: Insights from a pharmacy-based community survey in Crete and Cyprus’.

Led by Dr Despo Ierodiakonou, this collaborative study between researchers from the University of Nicosia Medical School and School of Health and Life Sciences, and the University of Crete Medical School, will investigate real-world patterns of inhaled medication use, the importance of adherence and patients’ knowledge in asthma and COPD management.

Commenting on his participation, Dr Al Kamzari said: ‘I am grateful to the University of Nicosia Medical School for supporting my participation in this conference. My sincere thanks to my supervisor, Dr Despo Ierodiakonou, and to the entire research team for their guidance, collaboration, and support throughout this project. Receiving feedback from international experts on our study design and methodology was an enriching experience that will strengthen our research moving forward’.
