Dr Nicholas Loulloudes

Adjunct Faculty

Nicholas Loulloudes is a Researcher, Information Technology Professional and Entrepreneur.

His interests evolve around the areas of Cloud Computing, Intelligent Transportation Systems and Geo-Location. Specifically, his expertise focuses in the domains of: Large-Scale Distributed Systems (Cloud, IoT) and Compute Resource Virtualization, Vehicular Networks (Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communications), Smart Cities, and Complex Networks.

He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Cyprus (2015), an M.Sc. in Communications Networks and Software from the University of Surrey (2006) and a BSc in Computer Science from Intercollege (Cum Laude, 2005). His Ph.D. thesis titled “Distributed Traffic Information Systems Based on V2X Communication in Large-Scale Urban Environments” was completed under the supervision of Professor Marios D. Dikaiakos.

He has served as a researcher, thesis advisor and visiting lecturer at the University of Cyprus (UCY). His research has been published in leading scientific conferences and journals. Moreover, his ideas have been presented in Innovation and Entrepreneurship competitions (ClimateLaunchpad, Digital Champion).

Nicholas, has a long involvement in the Eclipse open-source ecosystem as a Committer, and currently leads the Cloud Application Management Framework (CAMF). He has been a mentor to a variety of postgraduate and undergraduate theses, as well as, international competitions such as the Google Summer of Code (GSoC ns3 2012 & 2013). His work has been funded by acknowledged international bodies (EU FP6 – FP7, Cyprus Research Promotion Foundation) as well as world renowned organizations (Amazon).

Currently, Nicholas holds the position of Head of R&D at TRG Research and Development LTD, Limassol, Cyprus. He is also a part-time faculty at the Department of Computer Science, University of Nicosia.
