
Kyriakos Georgiou
Kyriakos E. Georgiou, Senior Administrator, Researcher and Lecturer (Knowledge Worker) is a Senior Administrator at the Rectorate, working on accreditation and quality issues, collaborates on research programs and teaches courses in Business Administration and Mechanical Engineering. He has supervised more than 20 MBA dissertations.
He has been working on national and European research projects for the past 20 years especially on issues pertaining to the environment and sustainable development with a focus on the rural, mountainous area of Troodos, the place of his birth. For the past 10 years, he has been working on Erasmus+ K2 actions developing academic programs and courses in Asia and Africa.
He studied Mechanical Engineering (B.S.M.E., 1986) and Business Administration (M.B.A., 1988) at the University of Houston in Texas, U.S.A. Has extensive experience in project management and is a certified Project Manager (PRINCE II). He is a Member of the Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (E.T.E.K.) in the area of Mechanical Engineering, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Cyprus Computer Society the Cyprus Human Resource Management Association. In addition, he is a trustee and treasurer of the Foundation of the Liberation Struggle EOKA 1955 – 1959, a research foundation.
He has a long experience in business and the trade union movement, where he worked as a senior manager and director of various companies, including the Cyprus Development Bank (1995-2001) and the Hellenic Bank (2006 – 1014). Served also as a Member of the Board of Directors of Hellenic Bank (Investments) Limited and Limited Liability Company Commercial Bank «Hellenic Bank» (Russia) and Member of the Audit, Risk and Remuneration Committees of the Bank’s Board of Directors. More recently he served on the Board of Directors of the Human Resource Development Authority (2019 – 2021), a public organization funding professional training programs in Cyprus, and as Vice Chair on the Audit Committee.
