Dr Paul Featherstone

Dr Paul Featherstone lectures on the Oil and Gas Engineering course. He has a first class Honours degree in Geology from the University of Birmingham (UK) in 1973 and a Phd in Geophysics from the University of Durham (UK) in 1976. He joined Shell International on completion of his doctorate and worked for Shell for 33 years as an oil and gas explorer in many countries (Oman, Egypt, Netherlands, Australia, Kazakhstan) as well as researching and developing multiple technologies and software packages, before retiring in 2009 as a Global Geologist conducting reviews of projects in typically 35 countries a year. He is a consultant for several industry projects (e,g, Distribute Acoustic Sensing with fibre optics), the Exploration Director of Siren E&P and has taught courses internally in Shell, at the University of Cairo, the University of Cyprus and the University of Nicosia.

He lives in Paphos with his wife (an International lawyer) and 12 year old twins.
