The Department of Student Affairs, in collaboration with the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, invites Psychology students to a Workshop by Dr. Seth C. W. Hayden entitled “Addressing the “Thought” Problem: Using Cognitive Reframing in Mental Health Support.”

Wednesday, 21 October · 12.00-13.30
UNIC Athens | Room 105

Addressing beliefs and thoughts that cause distress is common practice in mental health support. This workshop will involve a discussion on the impact of problematic thoughts and the use of cognitive reframing to address this. The workshop will include a demonstration of cognitive reframing in practice.

The workshop will address:

  • The beliefs and thoughts that can impact mental health.
  • The positive impact of cognitive reframing as a means of addressing problematic beliefs and thoughts.
  • The use of cognitive reframing in practice through a demonstration.

The workshop is particularly relevant to students who plan to pursue careers in mental health and professionals who train mental health practitioners. It will provide participants with an opportunity to develop their understanding of the role of beliefs and thoughts in mental health support and to gain insight into the practical application of cognitive reframing.

The workshop will be delivered in English. No interpretation will be provided.

Registration is required.
