Rita Hinek

External Communication, European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO): Outreach and External Relations

Rita Hinek is a communication professional at EPSO, who’s role is to serve the EU institutions by providing high quality, efficient and effective selection procedures that enable them to recruit the right person, for the right job, at the right time. She is responsible for the EU Careers Ambassadors project, which is EPSO’s biggest outreach project across the EU.

Rita is working at the EU Institutions since 2006, previously she worked in marketing and sales in the private sector. She graduated at the University of Dusseldorf in Germany with an MA degree in Sociology.

Mathieu Orphanides

Team Leader Portal, Events & DiscoverEU, European Commission: DG Education, Youth, Sport & Culture

Mathieu Orphanides is a Cypriot national living in Brussels and working for the European Commission. He graduated in marketing and started his professional career in an advertising company. He joined the European Commission in 2002, first in the HR department dealing with finances and budget during 4 years, then he was recruited in the DG for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC). In DG EAC, he worked in several departments: resources, budget/finance and National Agencies. In 2016 he joined the youth unit in DG EAC as Programme Manager for Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps. He is currently leading the teams responsible for the development and the implementation of the DiscoverEU action, the European Youth Portal and the general coordination of the European Youth Week 2024.
