Konstantina-Christina Dimakopoulou is an Assistant Professor in Biostatistics and Research Methods at the University of Nicosia Medical school, Athens.

Dr Dimakopoulou holds a BS Degree in Statistics from Athens University of Economics and Business, a MSc in Biostatistics and a MSc in Crisis Management in the Health Sector from School of Health Sciences, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and a PhD in Environmental Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the Medical School, NKUA. Dr Dimakopoulou has been granted two scholarships for postdoctoral research in environmental epidemiology and geographical information systems (GIS) for producing high spatio-temporal resolution data for health research.

Her main research interests focus on environmental epidemiology, with an emphasis on the development of statistical methodology combined with the applications of GIS and machine learning algorithms, for the development of hybrid spatio-temporal modelling for the assessment of exposure to air pollution and road-traffic noise. Management and analysis of big data collected through automated systems (i.e. development of a linkage framework to assign individual-level environmental exposures to large population-based cohorts). Subsequently, she uses the extracted results to investigate the health effects of climate change and environmental stressors (i.e. air pollution, noise, built environment), as well as their cumulative effects and interactions, effects in sensitive sub-populations, and evaluate them through Health Impact Assessment (HIA). Her work has a strong applied research orientation and focuses on statistical analyses of both short- and long-term risk associations, using time-series analysis, survival analysis and meta-analysis research methods.
