Call for Expressions of Interest

PAX Moot Court Competition 2027 & Other International Moot Court Competitions

The Procedural Law Unit (PLU) of the School of Law is considering participation in international Moot Court competitions during the 2026/2027 academic year.

We are, therefore, inviting University of Nicosia law students with an interest in legal advocacy, cross-border litigation, private international law, and dispute resolution to express their interest in participating.

The competitions under consideration include:

• the PAX Moot Court Competition 2027, Europe’s leading moot on private international law, focusing on jurisdiction, choice of law, and the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments in cross-border disputes;

• the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, centered on international sales law (CISG) and international commercial arbitration;

• the IntLaw Investment Arbitration Moot, focusing on investor-state dispute settlement;

• other international moot competitions in related fields that the PLU may identify as suitable.

Participation involves substantial legal research, the preparation of written memorials/submissions, and oral advocacy before panels of academics and practitioners. It requires strong commitment to teamwork and sustained preparation throughout the competition period, typically spanning several months.
