Engaging in regular exercise has long been proven to evoke a whole range of physical and mental health benefits. Physical activity has been shown to play a significant role in primary and secondary prevention of many chronic diseases, such as health benefits can be observed even with relatively minor physical activity volumes. Football is one of the world's most popular activities for youth, a sphere where they can acquire physical, mental, and educational skills, develop healthy habits, and build life-long friendships. In recent years, however, youth football has begun to face up to the myriad issues within its ranks that can compromise the health, safety, and integrity, driving youth organisations to measures for safeguarding and protecting their members from maltreatment. Despite its societal role and the fact that football provides physical and health benefits, youth football players are not exempt from mental health issues, and playing football does not make them immune to mental health challenges. TEAM aims to conduct evidence-based research amongst youth football on the challenges and effects of mental health and the need for mental well-being. The project will identify and map the general mental health issues/symptoms in youth football, and track and comprehend the level of awareness and knowledge of youth football players and staff in recognising and responding to mental health issues/symptoms. TEAM will introduce a Handbook to raise awareness, provide insights, and introduce good practices to the youth football stakeholders, practitioners, and policy-makers on how to recognize, respond and tackle youth mental health stigma. TEAM has a clear European added value with broad EU relevance, as it targets all 55 European members of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). The findings of this project involve and affect a variety of stakeholders such as citizens, the private sector, national authorities, European and international level authorities.

Bad governance, corruption, and fraud pose significant challenges to our societies, often undermining civil liberties, fundamental rights, and the public interest. At the same time, accountability is a cornerstone of democracy, requiring effective tools and procedures. One of the most powerful mechanisms for ensuring accountability is whistleblowing. Recognizing its importance, many governments worldwide have established laws and procedures to protect whistleblowers. Since 2019, the EU has also adopted a directive to safeguard individuals who report breaches of Union law. While all EU Member States have transposed this directive into their national legal systems, the process has often been slow, and some laws fall below EU standards, as noted by the EU Whistleblowing Monitor. Nonetheless, according to a European Parliament report, most Member States have aligned their laws with Article 2 of the directive, covering issues such as environmental protection— the primary focus of our project. Addressing climate change, protecting the environment, and preventing ecological harm are top EU priorities, embedded in numerous policy initiatives. To meet environmental targets in the coming decades, good governance, transparency, and accountability are essential but not sufficient on their own. This project aims to strengthen the capacity of civil society organizations (CSOs) and local authorities to ensure the effective implementation of the EU directive and national transposition laws. Additionally, it seeks to raise public awareness about whistleblowers’ rights and reporting channels, fostering a culture of accountability and environmental protection.

INSIDE-CoVE presents a network of Centres of Vocational Excellence across six European countries. Greece, Spain, Germany, and Ireland are the main CoVEs, while Cyprus and Belgium networks are being established as satellite CoVEs as part of the project's expansion. The Belgian EU hub seeks to amplify the influence of the INSIDE-CoVE skills ecosystems throughout Europe. The INSIDE-CoVE horizontal approach emphasises three layers of curriculum development for the construction industry in Europe. The digital layer emphasises the importance of data, software, and hardware skills, seamlessly integrating BIM as a universal language across different construction disciplines. The green layer integrates energy efficiency aspects throughout the building life cycle, incorporating skills in environmental sustainability and governance. The inclusion layer strives to promote the welfare of the construction workforce, drawing in social groups that are often overlooked, such as youth and women. The approach tackles language, background, and experience challenges to ensure that training material is in line with the European Pillar of Social Rights. The national dimension emphasises the creation of skills ecosystems that foster local innovation, regional development, and social inclusion. A strong network of partners is formed, connecting academia, industry, and the world of work. The international dimension is further emphasised by the common interest of all four national CoVEs in the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industrial ecosystem. The project aims to develop AEC skills at various levels and reach a wide range of learners through an innovative MOOC, the i-LMS platform. Its long-term goal is to promote research for AEC skills in academic settings, increase data and publications related to AEC skills and CoVE by 30%, boost businesses in the AEC sector in CoVE regions by 20%, and expand the pool of construction workers and AEC professionals in Europe by 10%.

The BOOST project addresses the significant disparities in innovation capacity among the EU Widening Countries, primarily in Eastern Europe. Although these nations excel in academic research, they struggle to translate their achievements into commercially viable products and services. This gap negatively affects the social, financial, and environmental sustainability of these regions, limits economic growth, and exacerbates issues like brain drain and low career opportunities for researchers and innovators. BOOST aims to strengthen the R&I capabilities of Widening Countries by fostering collaboration between academic and non-academic sectors. It focuses on enhancing career opportunities and entrepreneurship by providing researchers with the skills needed to succeed in both academic and industrial settings. A key element is the creation of the BOOST Learning Environment, which will facilitate knowledge exchange and collaboration among organizations across Europe, giving access to a rich database of tools, resources, and learning modules. Central to the project is the implementation of the BOOST ERA Talents Scheme, which provides 12-month mobility opportunities for 60 researchers, improving their practical skills through placements in industry settings. The scheme also includes five tailored learning modules, and each participant will receive a Personal Career Development Plan to support long-term career advancement. The project ensures that at least 30% of mobility participants will be women or individuals from underrepresented groups, addressing the imbalance that persists in R&I fields. BOOST provides broad sectoral expertise through its consortium partners. By focusing on skill development, practical training, and cross-sector collaboration, the project will create a sustainable impact that extends beyond its duration, helping Widening Countries improve their R&I capabilities and compete on the global stage.
