One Health in practice: Addressing zoonoses, antimicrobial resistance and food safety challenges
by Dr Manos Vlasiou, Assistant Professor, UNIC School of Veterinary Medicine
BRIEF SUMMARY
This lecture explores how molecular modelling, computational toxicology and translational research can strengthen preparedness against zoonotic threats, antimicrobial resistance and veterinary drug residues in food systems.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Dr Manos C. Vlasiou is Assistant Professor of Veterinary Biochemistry and Toxicology at the University of Nicosia. His work integrates computational drug discovery, veterinary toxicology and food safety within a One Health perspective.
He develops predictive molecular and translational models addressing antimicrobial resistance, residue monitoring in milk, and emerging infectious threats, combining in silico, in vitro and in vivo methodologies. His research focuses on positioning veterinary science as a central driver of preventive and data-driven public health systems.
