Laboratory Technician

UNIC Health, supporting the strategic growth of its Medical and Veterinary Schools, seeks a full-time Laboratory Technician based in Nicosia to join its Team.

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare practical teaching sessions for all programmes offered by UNIC Health.
  • Primarily assist and support the clinical skills and ultrasound sessions.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy storeroom, including service log books and records
  • Assist during practical sessions across biochemistry, biology, chemistry, histology, microbiology, physics, and physiology laboratory sessions, including washing glassware (if necessary).
  • Assist medical students with Self-Directed Learning (SDL) practice during working hours
  • Assist in the setup and smooth execution of (OSCE) assessments.
  • Assist with receiving new equipment and consumables, ensuring the lab remains fully stocked and operational.
  • Adhere to all University of Nicosia laboratory policies, with a strong emphasis on Health & Safety regulations.

Requirements: 

  • Undergraduate science degree (minimum). Postgraduate studies will be an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong proficiency in both written and spoken English.
  • Team player and attention to detail when independently preparing clinical skills sessions.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Professional demeanor in interactions with students and staff at all levels of the organization.

The ideal candidate should be eligible to work in the European Union / European Economic Area.
