Safeguarding and Addictions
SAFEGUARDING/ADDICTIONS
Addictions and domestic abuse are very common in our society. The traditional patriarchic nature of the Cypriot society results in many women who are been subjected to abuse (whether it is physical, psychological or sexual) to be afraid to speak up. Any type of abuse is a criminal offence and your personal doctor is ready to support you and act as your advocate and guide. We want to make sure that you will feel comfortable to raise any concerns (please see below for support organisations).
In addition, if you are addicted to any form of drug,(whether it is an illicit drug, or alcohol or smoking) there is a multitude of support groups and help you can get (see below).
