About Pedagogical Support Unit

The University of Nicosia recognizing the challenges related to knowledge creation, the 4^th technological revolution, social responsibility and knowledge transfer understand the need for the development of a different educational model. For enabling the transformation of the university learning environment in order to meet the 21^st century challenges, University of Nicosia established the structure and processes to support Faculty Members and academic programs. This structure and the processes are built around the Pedagogical Support Unit (PSU), Distance Learning Pedagogical Support Unit (e-PSU) and Technology Enhanced Learning Centre (TELC).

PSU is a unit dedicated to the pedagogical support of students and faculty. The PSU utilizes, coordinates and consults with a number of relevant units and people in the University, aiming to offer high quality learning experience to students contributing to their academic success. PSU is promotes and encourage innovation and excellence in teaching and learning and act as a catalyst in the growth of networks and collaborations across the university and into the Higher Education Sector.

The unit aims to have a strong national and international presence delivering short training courses, supporting continuous pedagogical development of the academic and other teaching staff. The unit is also responsible for developing tools for measuring effectiveness and other methodologies for certify student skills and Learning. PSU delivers Educational Conferences, produce and disseminates research and assessment outputs.

The establishment of the PSU demonstrates the university’s commitment to continuing enhancement of teaching, learning and assessment to ensure quality and consistency in the ways we engage and equip our students for life-long learning and employability in the 21st century.
