This includes addressing the challenges that may arise when breeding mares that present difficulties.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Dr Ghislaine Dujovne, originally from Chile, graduated from Universidad de Chile in 2004. After her graduation, she undertook a year of advanced training in Animal Reproduction, with an emphasis on Equine, at the same institution. She then worked in private practice for four years, primarily within the thoroughbred breeding industry, before relocating to the US to pursue a Residency in Equine Reproduction and a Master of Science at Auburn University, Alabama.

She achieved her American College of Theriogenologists diplomat status in 2010 and subsequently served as a lecturer at Auburn University before moving to California.

Since 2012, Dr Dujovne has been working at the University of California, Davis, as an Associate Professor in Equine Theriogenology. Her work is predominantly clinical, combined with applied research in Mare subfertility and Advanced Reproductive Technologies. Her daily activities are centred around equine reproduction clinical cases at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, UC Davis, where she also teaches veterinary students and trains Theriogenology Residents to become specialists.
