Dr Christina Hadjisoteriou

Deputy Director

Dr Christina Hadjisoteriou is an Associate Professor of Intercultural Education at the University of Nicosia. She is a graduate of the Department of Primary Education at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and in 2006, she earned a Master’s in Education (MPhil in Education) with a specialization in Educational Research from the University of Cambridge. In 2009, she obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Education (PhD in Education), with specialization in Intercultural Education from the same University as a scholar of the Leventis Foundation through the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust.

In 2012, she completed her postdoctoral studies on the “Europeanization of Intercultural Education” with funding from the Cyprus government and the European Structural Funds through the Research and Innovation Foundation. Dr Hadjisoteriou has previously served as an educator in public schools and as a member of the Biomedical and Clinical Research Committee A’ of the National Bioethics Committee.

Dr Hadjisoteriou has received international awards such as the International Travel Award from the American Educational Research Association and the SUSEES scholarship from the European Education Research Association. She has also received performance awards for all years of her studies from the State Scholarships Foundation of Greece. Actively participating in numerous European programs, she has secured over 4 million euros in grants from the European Union and the government of Cyprus.

As the author and editor of 8 books, Dr Hadjisoteriou has a rich publication history in international scientific journals and the daily press, and she is a member of several international research organizations. She currently serves as the Deputy Director of the UNESCO Chair at the University of Nicosia, “Cultural Diversity and Intercultural Dialogue for a Culture of Peace”.
