Overview
The SPRING 2023 Technology Enhanced Learning Centre (TELC) Newsletter is out!
In light of the recent explosion of interest in AI writers (e.g. ChatGPT) and their possible effect on education, TELC aims to be focusing more research on these powerful and quickly-improving technologies. As such, this newsletter is divided into two thematic areas: (1) AI writer-related articles and (2) other interesting/useful learning-technology information.
This newsletter therefore has information on AI detectors, how to tweak your assignments to make them harder for students to use AI-writers, group assignments to discourage cheating with ChatGPT, AI-policy ideas, other interesting AI nuggets. Additionally, in this new AI-technology epoch, TELC firmly believes the optimal road forward should be about discovering greater success using a ‘human with AI’ approach. Furthermore, as this area is changing so quickly, we also encourage faculty and staff to share their own observations related to generative AI in future newsletters.
