On 23rd June 2023, the University of Nicosia’s Department of Politics and Governance, School of Law was represented by two student representatives at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to partake in discussions under the event “Women in Diplomacy”. The students were accompanied by the Director of the Diplomatic Academy, Dr Constantinos Adamides.
“Women in Diplomacy” was a full day event, curated by the Presidency of the Republic of Cyprus and the Office of the Commissioner for Gender Equality. Discussions revolved around the issue of gender mainstreaming in foreign policy, the role of women in diplomacy and women diplomats, as well as the various opportunities women in Cyprus have in diplomacy, the foreign service, the European Union, as well as other international organisations and institutions.

Στις 23 Ιουνίου 2023, το Τμήμα Πολιτικής και Διακυβέρνησης της Νομικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου Λευκωσία εκπροσωπήθηκε από 2 φοιτήτριες στο Υπουργείο Εξωτερικών, λαμβάνοντας μέρος στην εκδήλωση “Γυναίκες στη Διπλωματία”. Τις φοιτήτριες συνόδεψε ο Διευθυντής της Διπλωματικής Ακαδημίας, Δρ. Κωνσταντίνος Αδαμίδης.
Η εκδήλωση “Γυναίκες στη Διπλωματία” έλαβε χώρα υπό την αιγίδα της Προεδρίας της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας και το Γραφείο της Επιτρόπου Ισότητας των Φύλων. Συζητήθηκε, μεταξύ άλλων, το θέμα της ενσωμάτωσης της διάστασης του φύλου στην εξωτερική πολιτική, τον ρόλο των γυναικών στη διπλωματία και τις γυναίκες διπλωμάτες, καθώς και τις διάφορες ευκαιρίες που έχουν οι γυναίκες στην Κύπρο στη διπλωματία, στο διπλωματικό σώμα, στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση, καθώς και σε άλλους διεθνείς οργανισμούς και ιδρύματα.
