Navigating AI: Ethics, Innovation, and Student Success at the University of Nicosia

The Career Success Centre, on Thursday, 13 March 2025, organised a guest speaker series seminar: Navigating AI: Ethics, Innovation, and Student Success at the University of Nicosia. The seminar took place at UNESCO Amphitheatre between 11:30-12:30.

This student presentation at the University of Nicosia examined essential topics in artificial intelligence and its implications for academia and student life. It began with an introduction to Dr. Chris Alexander, Associate Professor and Head of the AI Learning Centre (AILC), outlining the centre’s mission and initiatives. The session reviewed emerging AI trends anticipated for 2025, offering insights into new developments in the field. A key component of the presentation was the discussion on ethical AI use, emphasizing a responsible approach for students as they incorporated these tools into their studies. The analysis extended to exploring the evolving relationship between generative AI and human creativity, highlighting changes in roles and oversight in the educational environment. Additionally, the presentation introduced a range of innovative AI tools designed to enhance learning, productivity, and career development. The event concluded with a Q&A segment to foster interaction and a summary of the session’s main takeaways.
