Erasmus+ VET Mobility

Since 2012, the Department of Training and Development has been hosting teams from Technical Lyceums, IEKs (Institutes of Vocational Training) and Chambers from abroad and mainly from Greece, which are part of the European Erasmus + Program. It offers training in 15 days of specialized subjects.

The aim is for groups of pupils, students and employees to specialize in training, to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge and to visit local businesses and organizations. In cases where mobility concerns students, they are placed in business for internships. Besides the theoretical and practical part of the program, the apprentices have the opportunity to visit all the districts of Cyprus and to get to know the Cypriot culture, the customs and the beauties of the place.

The main specialized areas covered so far by the various mobility programs include the following:

  • Exploitation of geothermal energy in the tourism industry
  • ‘Rooms Division Management in Hotels’
  • Treatment of Cardiovascular Diseases through the Mediterranean diet
  • Integrated Energy Saving Intervention in Buildings
  • Hybrid and electric vehicles: The future of transportation is green
  • Marketing Skills: Communication and Team Working
  • Welding training for ships using MMA, MIG / MAG and TIG methods
  • Training in New Hospitality Techniques (spa hospitality)
  • Packaging and labelling as a marketing strategic tool
  • Developing special – alternative forms of tourism for a 12- month work
  • Smart power transmission networks
  • Developing skills in Human Resource Management (Coaching)
  • Health tourism, a mean to extend the touristic season and diversify the touristy product
