IPCNS partners with LCAPS
The founding reasoning of the Institute of Public, Cyber and National Security (IPCNS) lays in its ambition to promote the development of professionalism and professionalization within the broad fields of Public, Cyber and National and International Security and exert a strong influence on their development, contributing to the whole spectrum of security through research, teaching and professional training.
Within this respect, one of IPCNS’s basic goal is to develop affiliations with International Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, and Security Organizations and Institutes and relevant academic departments.
Therefore, we are happy to announce that the University of Nicosia (UNIC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) for the collaboration of the IPCNS with the Liverpool Centre for Advanced Policing Studies (LCAPS). The aim of this partnership is to explore potential for jointly developing some or all of the following activities based on the two institutions’ academic and educational needs:
- Development of professional courses and enterprise activities
- Development and operation of collaborative programmes
- Development of joint research
- Exchange of students
- Exchange of academic staff
Specifically, the IPCNS and the LCAPS will work towards the development of collaborative activities relating to Policing, Crime and Security.
Within this respect the IPCNS’s collaboration with the LCAPS has been progressing rapidly already leading to an agreement of offering joint professional certificate courses.
Furthermore discussions between our two institutes have commenced aiming for jointly developing and offering degrees and Master programmes in the areas of Policing, Investigation and Security, with the support of relevant interrelated schools and departments.
The MOU was signed on 04/02/2020 by the Rector of UNIC, Professor Philippos Pouyioutas and Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of LJMU, Professor Ian Campbell.
