Generative AI – Text To Image
AI art can indeed be considered art, largely because of the essential role the human creator plays in shaping the creative process. While AI provides the technical tools, humans determine the artistic vision by choosing themes, setting parameters, and selecting the most compelling outputs. Just as a photographer carefully composes an image or an artist thoughtfully picks colours, human intention, creativity, and judgement remain central to AI-generated art.
Leading text-to-image platforms include Midjourney for artistic and imaginative results, DALL·E 3 for smoothly incorporating AI images into existing creative workflows, and Ideogram for accurately rendering text within images. For greater customisation and precise control, creators often turn to Stable Diffusion or its popular alternative, FLUX.1. Additionally, Adobe Firefly excels in seamlessly integrating AI-generated imagery into photographs, while Recraft specialises in enhancing graphic design processes.
We generally prefer Midjourney because it consistently produces artistic, imaginative, and visually compelling images. Unlike other platforms that might emphasise precision or workflow integration, Midjourney focuses on creativity and aesthetic appeal, delivering images with a uniquely human-like touch. Its strength lies in interpreting prompts artistically, offering vibrant colours, evocative moods, and dynamic compositions, making it an excellent choice for anyone prioritising originality and visual impact.
The AI Learning Centre can offer focused training sessions on Midjourney, providing staff, faculty, and students with hands-on experience in generating artistic and imaginative visuals. Participants will learn how to craft effective prompts, refine their results, and creatively integrate Midjourney-generated images into coursework, teaching materials, or personal projects. This targeted training empowers users to confidently explore the platform’s creative potential.
