About this Collaboration
This international collaboration provides an innovative study route for students eager to distinguish themselves in the globally competitive professional environment.
The collaboration offers candidates the opportunity to obtain the City University of London (Bayes Business School (formerly Cass)) Bachelor Degree “BSc Accounting and Finance”, while building their professional skills working alongside Deloitte professionals.
Academic and Professional Benefits
The aim of this collaboration is to maximize the learning and experience of students through two years of academic studies at UNIC, followed by two years at Bayes, during which they attend Deloitte workshops and also engage in rich internship experiences with Deloitte.
It is ideal for students intending to pursue a career in the accounting profession and financial services industry, be it as Auditors, Tax advisers, Risk management consultants, Data analysts or in any other specialty where financial accounting is a central element.
In view of the constant change in the landscape of the accounting profession and the constant search for innovation and excellence, an innovative package was designed, which intends to equip ambitious students with the knowledge and experience required to maximise their career opportunities and also their earning potential.
Academic knowledge
This collaboration seeks to provide students with the skills employers in the field are looking for, such as: detailed knowledge of financial accounting, financial reporting, auditing, taxation, risk management, cost and management accounting and financial statements analysis. The academic knowledge, together with practical work competences, will give candidates the confidence to succeed in a wide range of accounting and
business job positions.
Through this collaboration, students can, in as little as 4 years, complete their academic studies and obtain their degree from Bayes– BSc in Accounting and Finance.
Furthermore, they can take advantage of the exemptions they can gain for professional qualifications such as the ACCA and ACA.
Professional qualifications
This programme would be of particular interest to anyone eager to pursue a professional qualification such as the ACA, ACCA, CFA, ADIT, CMA, CPA and CIA accordingly. This programme provides additional advantages such as exemptions for qualifications for the ACCA and ACA, and automatic registration for the University Student Scheme of the ICAEW and the Accelerate programme of the ACCA.
Professional experience with Deloitte
Equally important to academic degrees and professional qualifications is exposure to the real work experience.
Students enrolled in the international programme in Accounting and Finance will participate in tailored and prestigious business skills workshops delivered by Deloitte professionals. They will also experience the life of Deloitte professionals through the internships offered to them. Students can earn up to 32 weeks (approximately 160 days) of professional experience and knowledge, which is vital for the required practical work element, leading to their elected Professional Qualification. As such, they may be eligible to become a member of a Professional Body (such as ICAEW and ACCA) earlier, as their internship period will count as training experience for their qualification.
Employability and business skills workshops
Students will also attend a number of employability and business skills workshops which will take place during the Summer semester of the 1st year of academic studies with UNIC. These will be assessed workshops and will act as an integral element of training with Deloitte. The areas of focus will be:
- Analytical thinking and problem solving
- Compliance and legislative implications
- Communication skills and working in teams
- Ethical and professional standards in practice
- Innovation and technology topics, such as cybersecurity and cloud computing, fintech, big data and data analytics, the impact of artificial intelligence
- Emotional intelligence
- Professional judgement and creativity in practice
Entry Criteria
Eligibility
School Apolytirion of at least average 19/20 overall (including 19/20 and above in Maths) or a minimum of AAA in A-Levels (preferably in Accounting, Economics, and Mathematics, or equivalent).

How it works
Upon commencement of the programme, Deloitte will invite candidates meeting the above degree entry criteria for an interview and skills assessment for the Deloitte internship programme. Successful candidates will then join the programme and will follow the specified semester breakdown. Students will not have the option to select their modules to be attended each semester.
As the Accounting degrees in both UNIC and Bayes follow a flexible credit transfer system (ECTS), credits will be awarded for the Bayes degree, assuming academic courses are completed at UNIC and vice versa.
Throughout the design of these degrees, core topics have been selected to be completed through academic courses, to obtain the maximum of exemptions from specific professional qualifications.
Students will secure internships with Deloitte that will run during the 2nd and 3rd years. By performing well on their internships and by achieving a minimum of 2:1 (Bayes) or 3.5 CPA (UNIC) throughout the degree, students may be potentially eligible for a graduate job offer from Deloitte.

Living and Studying in London, UK
London is one of the world’s most exciting cities. City, University of London’s central yet quiet location means our students benefit from all that the city has to offer.
Named the best city worldwide in which to study by QS Best Student Cities 2018, London is described as “a nerve-centre of global academia”. But it’s not just all work and no play. However you like to spend your free time, life at City offers a huge range of opportunities for international students.
City is located in Islington with excellent transport links, with rail and underground stations close by and the option of walking to many of London’s attractions. London is also the gateway to the rest of the UK, Europe and the world, providing international students with opportunities to explore and discover further afield.
Accommodation in London
All students can choose to live in one of City’s modern and centrally located halls of residence. Moving to a big city can seem intimidating but it’s much easier if you have arranged somewhere to live that is comfortable and close to other students. City offers a range of accommodation, including contemporary and newly refurbished halls of residence a short walk from the main City buildings, as well as private accommodation. All prospective full-time students can apply for a place in the halls of residence and City guarantees one to all first-year undergraduates who accept a place at City before the accommodation deadline. Whether you want to live in halls or privately rented housing, City’s Student Centre’s Accommodation team can help.
Halls of Residence
Living with other students provides a great opportunity to meet new people from different courses and backgrounds. City has self-catered halls of residence located only a short walk from the main City buildings. Each with a team of management staff, halls have private, modern study bedrooms and communal living spaces where you can cook, relax and feel at home. If you do not want a place in halls, the University of London Private Housing Services can provide information to help you find accommodation in the private sector. Ideally you would need to view private housing prior to booking it. July and August are the best times to find private accommodation in London for the following academic year. Costs of private accommodation in central London can be expensive. Keep in mind that your heating, electricity and hot water expenses will probably not be included as part of your rent and you will also have to pay a refundable deposit. It may be less expensive to live further away, but this will mean you will have travel costs.
