Phygital

Phygital was an Interreg V (2014-2020) BalkanMed, EU-funded programme being implemented in Greece, Albania and Cyprus; it involved the development of makerspaces — one in each country — that worked with the local communities. In Cyprus, the project’s work was carried out by the University of Nicosia Research Centre in collaboration with the Municipality of Lakatamia/hack66. The Cyprus section of the project examined the importance of makerspace culture in the advancement of contemporary social art and design practices. Evi Tselika was the UNRF Phygital Cyprus coordinator and responsible for overseeing the whole implementation of the project on behalf of the university. This included a series of thematic workshops, community outreach activities, relevant research, an international conference and an international art exhibition and public programme.
