Dr George Pavlides

Dr George Pavlides is a graduate of Lomonosov Moscow State University and holds a PhD in Journalism issued by Sofia State University St Kliment Ohridski.

He is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Communications of the University of Nicosia. He has also taught at the University of Cyprus, the Cyprus University of Technology (Tepak), the Academy of Public Administration and the Cyprus Police Academic as Special Teaching Faculty (STF). In the past, he also taught at the Journalism programme of the Frederick Institute. He is an accredited trainer of the Human Resource Development Authority.

Dr Pavlides is the President of the Cyprus Media Complaints Commission and the Director of the Mass Media Institute.

As a journalist, he has worked for the press, the electronic and online media. He worked as a political editor, copy editor, radio and TV producer, editor-in-chief of various media. He was the director of ASTRA Radio station from 2006 to 2014. For the last three years, he has been co-operating with the “Channel 6” (Kanali 6) radio station, where he leads three radio shows.
