Profile
Dr Polycarpos Polycarpou is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Nicosia Medical School and a Nephrology Specialist at Apollonion Private Hospital in Nicosia.
Dr Polycarpou obtained an MB ChB from the University of Leicester Medical School, UK and completed his postgraduate training in the UK and Cyprus, obtaining his specialisation title in Nephrology in 2001.
Dr Polycarpou was one of the founding members of ‘Friends of kidney Disease Patients, Larnaca Association’. In addition, he is a member of the Ministry of Health Committee of Specialists in Nephrology since 2013. In 2014, he became an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the St George’s University of London Medical School and in 2017 he was elected as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London. In relation to his latest research activities, he is currently observing a diabetic follow-up cohort and is involved in a multi-team study that investigates the genetics of inherited renal diseases in Cyprus.
