Demetris Christou is a Clinical Instructor at the University of Nicosia Medical School.
Dr Christou completed an MB ChB from Leicester Medical School, UK in 2009. Thereafter, he worked as a junior and senior house officer at the University Hospitals of Leicester, UK. In addition, while a fellow in the Department of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation at Leicester Medical School, a research-led department engaged in internationally competitive research, he completed a pioneer research on the correlation between CRP and progression of IgA nephropathy.
In 2011, upon his return to Cyprus, Dr Christou commenced specialty training/residency in General Surgery at Larnaca General Hospital. He completed his residency in 2018 and started practicing as a General and Laparoscopic Surgeon in the private sector, with special interest in minimally invasive colorectal surgery.
