Volunteering and Engaging Opportunities
- Present a Q&A or Information Session:
We arrange a variety of Q&A and Informational sessions each year based on student requests and no two sessions are alike. These sessions provide students the opportunity to find out more about many topics. Examples of previous sessions are as followed:
The Differences between Post Graduate Training in the UK vs US,
Q&A on Achieving a Research Post in the US,
Applying to the FP or the AFP in the UK,
How to Achieve Your Residency in the US,
How to Develop my Medical Student CV,
If you have further knowledge on these topics or can suggest a new topic that you anticipate as valuable to students, please let us know.
- Sharing a Specialty Specific Presentation:
Share your career pathway to your chosen specialty and outline the career opportunities in this field by supporting our ‘A Career in …’ series. Specialty Specific sessions are designed and presented by you to share your personal pathway, career opportunities and current developments within a specialty.
- Alumni Testimonial:
Share your story. By writing a short paragraph of 200 words maximum, based on your experiences at the Medical School, you can make an impact on current and prospective students. For example, why did you choose the University of Nicosia? What did you enjoy most during your time here? How has your experience benefited your career? You can also share a memory, experience that was impactful. All stories will be considered for publication on either the Medical School website, social media or other relevant publications. (If you choose to give a testimonial, please send us your profile picture at [email protected])

- Alumni Mentoring:
Become an Alumni Mentor. Are you passionate about sharing your experiences and knowledge? Volunteering as a mentor is a great way to make an impact while staying connected with the University of Nicosia Medical School community. The Alumni Mentor Programme is an informal, short-term or one-off session meant to provide valuable support and guidance to students or recent graduates. Whether they have questions about a specific specialty, navigating the application process, choosing between research or clinical training pathways, or expanding their professional networks, your mentorship can make a real difference.
- Open Day Volunteer:
Open Days provide prospective students with the opportunity to engage with Course Directors, Admissions Advisors, Alumni and current students. Our Alumni Volunteers are an invaluable resource, as we know prospective students and their families genuinely value hearing from graduates. These events are an opportunity for you to share first-hand insights such as studying and living on campus and your experiences of being part of the medical school community. Open Days are held online and in- person/on-site in a specific country.
- Mock Interviews:
Mock Interviews will offer students additional support for preparation for interview processes.
