Distinguished guests, faculty, staff, families, friends, and, of course, the class of 2015…

Good evening. I am honored to have the opportunity to speak on behalf of my fellow colleagues. My first concern when writing my speech was how I would be able to address such a unique class comprised of many different nationalities, with each individual possessing their own dreams and passions. It quickly turned into an easy task after I realized a few things. First of all, to my colleagues, I ask you to look to your left. Now look to your right. We all, are graduating tonight, having accomplished a great task. However, that isn’t the only thing we have in common. Over the past four years, our experiences have stitched us closer together.

For example, I think we’ve all tried to write a paper the night before it was due, with a lot of frappe to keep us awake. And we’ve studied large textbooks while we typed away at computer screens for hours, seeking the occasional help from Google. If Google had a body, he’d be graduating here with us, he’d be seated in the front…right next to frappe.

All joking aside, we are here today because of the people that stand here before us. I would like to thank the University of Nicosia, especially the many people that push it forward. Many, many thanks to our faculty, for teaching and guiding us, and always going the extra mile. I would also like to thank the Student Affairs Department for their assistance and support. A special thank you to our Academic Advisors as well, who kept meeting us semester after semester to offer important advice. Finally, a big and loving thank you to all of our family and friends whose love and encouragement kept us going. It has been a privilege and an adventure, thank you so much for the memories that I will hold dear for the rest of my life. Once again, congratulations to the class of 2015!
