ISSL 2021-22

Rescheduling Announcement

Dear ISSL2020 participants and attendees,

Rescheduling 8th ISSL

Ongoing global developments and related international health and safety guidelines concerning the novel COVID-19 virus have prompted the Planning Committee to reschedule the upcoming 8th International Symposium on Service-Learning (ISSL) to June, 2022. This is being done in service of delivering the best possible outcome for all concerned, with the safety and wellbeing of our participants and the communities we serve at the forefront of this decision.

Please note the new dates:

  • Online Symposium – June 2021
  • Face-to-Face Symposium in Nicosia – June 2022

Abstract Submissions

We thank all those who have submitted abstracts within the framework of the Symposium, engaging with our timely topic on “Critical Service-Learning Across the Globe: Transforming Teaching into Social Action”. All accepted abstracts will remain active for those of you who are able to join us next summer to present. That said, you will have the opportunity to revise and resubmit your abstract closer to the time should you wish to. The new submission dates will be announced in the coming months.

Registrations

We thank all those who have officially registered (or are in the process of registering) for ISSL2020. All completed registrations will transfer to ISSL2022 and delegates already registered will not need to re-register or pay any additional fees.

Refunds

We hope that registered delegates will be able to join us in Cyprus next year. If you know that you will be unable to participate, let us know so that we can issue a refund of your registration. The Conference Secretariat (Keystone Conferences & Events) will be in touch to inquire about this and facilitate refunds where necessary. Please further note that refunds can be issued anytime throughout the next year.

Hope to see you in Cyprus in June 2022!

While it is impossible to predict the spread of the coronavirus and fully understand its implications on the global scene, the ISSL Planning Committee is committed to coordinating and delivering a successful ISSL2022. In that vein, we look forward to building on the lessons and learning outcomes of previous Symposia, and to welcoming you to the University of Nicosia in June 2022.

Thank you all for your cooperation, commitment, understanding, and support in the process.
