UNIC Department of Languages and Literature<\/a> invites high school students graduating in 2026 to take part in a writing competition on the topic: \u201cReimagining History: Exploring Alternative Outcomes of a Key Historical Event\u201d.<\/p>\nParticipants can select any historical event and explore how the world might have been different if that event had unfolded differently. They can choose between submitting a short creative story or an analytical essay of maximum 2000 words.<\/p>\n
To recognize different types of submissions, we will award:<\/p>\n
\n- Best Overall Entry – 30% scholarship<\/li>\n
- Best Creative Story – 30% scholarship<\/li>\n
- Best Analytical Essay – 30% scholarship<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Scholarship Terms<\/h3>\n\n- The scholarship is open to full-time new undergraduate students who will be commencing their studies in Fall26.<\/li>\n
- In the event of securing two (2) or more scholarships, the scholarship with the highest tuition fee reduction rate applies.<\/li>\n
- All applications must be submitted by 1 September 2026.<\/li>\n
- Entries will only be considered valid if submitted through the online submission form provided below.<\/li>\n
- Only original work is accepted and all entries will be checked for AI use.<\/li>\n
- The scholarship can be renewed for each consecutive year provided the student achieves a CPA of 2.5\/4.0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
