Πιστοποίηση «Παραρτήματος Διπλώματος» (DS Label)
In a ceremony which took place in Antwerp, Belgium, the European Commission honoured a number of higher education institutions from 17 European countries with the 2010 Diploma Supplement Label. The Diploma Supplement Label was successfully renewed in 2013.
The University of Nicosia was among 54 other universities in Europe to receive in 2010 the European Commission Diploma Supplement Label, in recognition of its efforts to provide every graduate a standardised document with their diploma, automatically and free of charge, describing the nature and content of their studies. In this way, the Diploma Supplement aims to make it easier for graduates to find jobs on the international labour market.
The University of Nicosia was the first private university in Cyprus to receive the Diploma Supplement Label – among very few European universities in total to hold this distinction.
The event was inaugurated by Ms. Androulla Vassiliou, EU Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, and by Mr. Pascal Smet, Flemish Minister of Education, Youth, Equal Opportunities and Brussels Affairs. The DS Label was received on behalf of the University by Dr. Andreas Charalambous, Vice-President for Development and University Relations at the time.
