My name is Anna Chrysafi and I am working at the University of Nicosia, School of Nursing as an Associate Lecturer. I studied Nursing at the School of Nursing and Midwifery in 1967-1970 which has been recognized by the General Council for Nurses, England and Wales UK and got the State Registered Nurse (SRN).
After that, I got a post in Farnborough Hospital in Kent and Essex in Orpington UK for the State Central Midwife (SCM) registered in England in 1973.
Came back to Cyprus where I got the post of Staff Nurse in Nicosia Hospital from 1973 – 1980.
Then I moved to the Nursing School after an interview selection where I worked for 12 years as a teacher in Clinical area till 1992.
In 1992- 1993 I did my PGEE/cert. Ed. Through a Government Scholarship in North Umbria University New Castle UK. And I returned back to Cyprus.
1n 1994 – 1996 I studied through Anglia University, ESSEX UK, Professional Studies in Nursing Education BSc (Hons).The Thesis title was Curriculum Development and New School Building, as a result of that, I got the post of Nurse Teacher, teaching Nursing till June 2010.
Meanwhile, I did the MSc in Middlesex University UK through Distance Learning, in Nursing Education –Work-Based Learning. Thesis title was –Mentors perception about their role as mentors, in 2009.
During this period I worked in University of Technology from 2008 – 2010 as the School of Nursing where I was working has been upgraded to a University.
In 2010, June I retired from the Government and in September of the same year I got a post as an Associate Lecturer, in University of Nicosia, Department of Life and Health Sciences in Nursing School, teaching Nursing till TODAY. I am a part-timer now and I am the coordinator of students Clinical Placement in Government Hospitals as well as Private Hospitals where our students are Practicing Nursing.
