Faculty Mobility

Dear All,

We would like to inform you that the Erasmus Office is now announcing a new call for applications for Faculty Mobility for the Spring 2011 semester. The Erasmus Mobility is primarily aimed to benefit students, but today more and more lecturers have the chance to travel and experience other cultures, methods of teaching, and bring their teaching ideas and techniques forward.

What is Erasmus Mobility?
Erasmus is an EU-funded mobility scheme which is part of the European Community education programme, operating with the support of the Commission of the European Communities. It is based on partnerships between higher education institutions in different countries within the EU and certain other non-EU countries. At present the University of Nicosia cooperates with about 20 different European countries and gives its students and lecturers the choice of more than 80 institutions for exchange.
The Erasmus Mobility is open to all university Faculty members. A formal Application Procedure has been already set up, with clear Selection Criteria, Deadlines, and a Selection Committee.

The Selection Committee
The Selection Committee was formulated last Fall 2009 Semester and is in charge of the Selection Procedure of the faculty applying to take part in the Erasmus Exchange.
The members of the Faculty Selection Committee are:
1) The Vice President for Administration and the Erasmus Coordinator
2) The Vice Rector
2) The Dean of the School of Humanities, or an approved Representative.
3) The Dean of the School of Business, or an approved Representative.
4) The Dean of the School of Education, or an approved Representative.
5) The Dean of the School of Sciences, or an approved Representative.

The Deadline
This academic year 2010-2011 there is one deadline for the Spring 2011 semesters. The deadline for application is: Monday – 28th of February, 2011.
The Selection Committee meeting shall take place on Tuesday, March 1st 2011.
