Medical School and Sheba Medical Center Clinical and Research Collaboration with the Cyprus Ministry of Health

On March 25, 2020, the Executive Dean of the Medical School and the Director General of Sheba Medical Center have signed a Memorandum of Understanding in establishing clinical and research collaboration with the Cyprus Ministry of Health as it relates to the pandemic crisis. This involves the sharing expertise and treatment protocols between the COVID-19 Clinic and the Intensive Care Coronavirus Unit at Sheba Medical Center in Israel with the COVID-19 Clinic at Famagusta General Hospital and with the Intensive Care Unit at Nicosia General Hospital.

The collaboration also aims to help Cyprus gain access for the use of Remdesivir for compassionate care of COVID-19 patients in Cyprus, since this is part of the treatment protocol at Sheba Medical Center.

Another action involves the use of telemedicine for real time consultation between the Intensive Care Units at Sheba and Nicosia General Hospital.
